Charles Peckham Day (born February 9, 1976)[1] [ii] is an American actor, comedian, author, songwriter and producer. He is all-time known for playing Charlie Kelly on the sitcom It's Ever Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–present), for which he was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Satellite Award in 2011.[3] In 2020, he co-created the Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest alongside Rob McElhenney and Megan Ganz. In film, he is known for his part equally Dale in the films Horrible Bosses (2011) and its 2014 sequel, besides as for his roles in Monsters Academy (2013), Pacific Rim (2013), The Lego Movie (2014), Fist Fight (2017), Pacific Rim: Insurgence (2018), and The Lego Film 2: The Second Function (2019). From 2018 to 2019, Solar day was the executive producer on the Fox comedy The Absurd Kids.

Charles Peckham Day was born in New York Metropolis, New York on Feb 9, 1976.[1] [2] His family lived in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. He spent nearly of his childhood in Middletown, Rhode Isle. He is the younger child of 2, with an older sister named Alice.[4] His female parent, Mary (née Peckham), was a piano instructor at The Pennfield School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and his father, Dr. Thomas Charles Day, is a retired professor of music history at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Isle.[5]

Solar day attended Pennfield Schoolhouse and graduated from the Portsmouth Abbey Schoolhouse, both in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He attended Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, majoring in fine art history in 1998. In May 2014, Twenty-four hour period gave the get-go oral communication for Merrimack Higher's graduating course and received an honorary Ph.D.[half-dozen]

During the summers of his college years, Day was agile in the preparation programs at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and went on to play the lead office in Expressionless Terminate, at the Huntington Theatre in Boston.[ten]

Day hosted the November 5, 2011 episode of Sabbatum Night Live (SNL) with Maroon five as the musical guest. He was the second cast fellow member from It'due south Always Sunny in Philadelphia to host SNL (afterward Danny DeVito, though DeVito hosted SNL before It's Ever Sunny in Philadelphia premiered). In 2014, he received an honorary doctorate in performing arts from Merrimack Higher, where he also delivered that year's keynote address.[22]

Day is married to actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
